Documentation : Terms of Use ( Free Service )

Your code is responsible for meeting and exceeding the guidelines outlined by Seomoz Attribution and Branding Requirements.
The Easy API is in no way responsible for how you use the content that is derived from our system. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with these terms before proceeding to adding this to your application.

Branding Requirements For Both the Free API and the Site Intelligence APIs

You cannot white label our metrics. This means you cannot display modified versions of the metrics to third parties or call them by different names.

Page Authority. You may not call our Page Authority by any other name. For example, you may not call it "MyBrand Metric." The 'P' in 'Page' must always be capitalized. The 'A' in 'Authority' must always be capitalized. When presenting Page Authority numerically, you must represent it with no more than two significant digits after the decimal point.

Domain Authority. You may not call our Domain Authority by any other name. For example, you may not call it "MyBrand Metric." The 'D' in 'Domain' must always be capitalized. The 'A' in 'Authority' must always be capitalized. When presenting Domain Authority numerically, you must represent it with no more than two significant digits after the decimal point.

mozRank. You may not call our mozRank metric by any other name. For example, you may not call it "SEORank" or "MyBrandRank." The `moz` must always be lower case and the 'R' must always be capitalized. If presenting mozRank numerically, you must represent it with no more than two significant digits after the decimal point. For example, you would illustrate mozRank as "5.23" and not "5.2893." In addition to displaying the numeric value of mozRank, you may display it graphically. If you display mozRank on a graph, then a mozRank of 1 must be equal to 10% and a mozRank of 10 must be equal to 100%.

mozTrust. You may not call our mozTrust metric by any other name. For example, you may not call it "SEOTrust" or "MyBrandTrust." The 'moz' must always be lower case and the 'T' must always be capitalized. If presenting mozTrust numerically, you must represent it with no more than two significant digits after the decimal point. For example, you would illustrate mozTrust as "6.32" and not "6.3289." In addition to displaying the numeric value of mozTrust, you may display it graphically. If you display mozTrust on a graph, then a mozTrust of 1 must be equal to 10% and a mozTrust of 10 must be equal to 100%.

Domain mozRank and Domain mozTrust must also meet these branding requirements.

Link-Back Attribution Requirements For Displaying API Data On Websites

When displaying API data (links, metrics, and anchor text) on websites, you must use one of our approved logos and link-back to SEOmoz.

You can download both color and grayscale versions of approved logos here. Do not alter the logo or use an unauthorized logo. The logo must be placed in the same context as the displayed metric. The logo should be placed in such a way as to make it apparent that the metric is provided by SEOmoz.

The logo must be clickable and link to www.seomoz.org/linkscape. In addition, the metric must be clickable and link to www.seomoz.org/linkscape/intel/basic?uri=PRETTY_ENCODED_URL.

If you have any questions about whether you're giving sufficient attribution, please send a screencapture to api@seomoz.org and we'll be happy to let you know what we think. We also like to see what cool stuff people are doing.

You can check out examples of excellent attribution by downloading this document.

Attribution Requirements For Displaying API Data In Print Media

When displaying API data in print media (for example, client reports, management reports, pamphlets, proposals), you must include the following attribution to SEOmoz in the footer of the document: "Data provided be SEOmoz's Linkscape." The font must be at least the same size as the surrounding font.

You may, but are not required, to include one of SEOmoz's approved logos.

Please download our Powered By Linkscape attribution kit for more information, as well as a collection images to use on your site and print media.
